The Yanukovych trial is turning into a vaudeville show of little interest to Ukrainians
The Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office is well aware of the futility of the criminal case against the fugitive President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych.

This opinion was expressed by the head of the Ukrainian Politics Foundation, Kost Bondarenko, in an interview with Moskovsky Komsomolets.
“In order to defend himself, Yanukovych can take a variety of actions: replacing lawyers, applications to challenge judges, to interrogate certain witnesses, and so on. At the same time, after witness testimony Sergeev's testimony and publication of those letters that Yanukovych sent not only in Russia, but also in the countries of the European Union, it became clear that the proceedings would be driven into a blind corner. Sooner or later, this process will turn into vaudeville and in itself will cease to excite Ukrainians.
At the same time, each side draws its own advantages from this story. The prosecution understands that even if they are successful, the verdict may be challenged in the ECHR. Yanukovych extracts informational reasons from the court, without which no one will need him. At the same time, this process is not important for modern Ukraine, since the prosecution does not have any indisputable evidence of the ex-president’s guilt.
