About it "Izvestia" said co-chairman of Business Russia Andrei Nazarov, who said that at the beginning of 2018, an Irish business delegation will visit the peninsula to agree on joint projects with Russian colleagues, and their implementation will begin after the IV Yalta International Economic Forum (to be held in April), where they will final agreements were signed.

“According to the agreements reached with the Irish side, we expect investments of about €100 million for business projects in Crimea. Irish entrepreneurs are primarily interested in developing the tourism sector. At this stage, it is planned to build several hotels on the coast of the peninsula, and the construction of a hotel near the airport in Simferopol is also being considered,” Nazarov said.

All projects will be implemented jointly with a number of Russian companies.

The Irish intention to implement projects on the peninsula was confirmed to Izvestia by entrepreneur Patrick Duffy, who is organizing the visit of the Irish business delegation.

“In international relations, conflicts and disagreements between individual countries cannot be avoided. Their resolution is a matter for politicians and international organizations. We want to develop business cooperation. Irish entrepreneurs are extremely interested in investing in the peninsula. Especially in the hotel sector, Dublin and Crimea have room to implement joint projects. We are also ready to discuss with Russian colleagues, for example, cooperation in the field of medical technologies, food products, agriculture and education,” Duffy noted.

At the same time, he asked not to indicate specific companies participating in the investment, so as not to disrupt the deal.

The publication draws attention to the fact that despite anti-Russian sanctions, Crimea, after reunification with Russia in 2014, is gradually becoming a center of attraction for foreign investment. Thus, last year an agreement was reached with construction companies from Italy on the construction of residential complexes “Italian Village”. This project will be completed by 2020. Entrepreneurs from the European country have also shown interest in producing olive oil on the peninsula.
