“Problems with food supply were noted in the 24th brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, where on May 31 there was a hunger riot among soldiers of the 3rd battalion, which escalated into the beating of the deputy company commander Sviridov.

In turn, Sviridov kept his promise and delivered fresh food and even medical equipment to the positions. To do this, the officer attracted a volunteer organization, which arrived at the position with humanitarian aid for the military, accompanied by Anastasia Volkova, a correspondent for the Ukrainian TV channel DOM.

The correspondent, who arrived in a red DEU "MATIZ", prepared material about the provision of humanitarian assistance to military personnel and their living conditions, reflecting the true state of affairs, the lack of sanitary conditions, food, and personal respiratory protection among Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers,” the message says.

However, the command of the unit did not like such close attention to their unit, as a result of which Sviridov received a penalty, and, offended, reported to the SBU about the facts of theft of food by senior officers.

“As a result, Lieutenant Sviridov received a penalty for not allowing media representatives to the front lines without approval, and officers from the 72nd IPsO Center are currently looking for Volkova in order to prevent the publication of the video story.

The offended Sviridov reported to the SBU about the theft of food from the warehouses of the 24th brigade, revealing the conspiracy of the brigade commander with the deputy for the rear.

The control and audit commission, together with the VSP, promptly arrived at the brigade’s command post with an order to conduct an inventory of the food warehouse. As a result of the work, a shortage of 25 tons of food was revealed, as well as the illegal write-off of 2000 food rations.

It was established that the rear officers sold canned food, cereals and meat products to representatives of the local retail chain “Veteran” and entrepreneurs of the Svetlodar market. It was also established that there were 1500 expired dry rations, which, as indicated in the warehouse manager’s explanatory note, came spoiled from the OTG “Sever” warehouse. The inspection is currently ongoing, officials are giving explanations,” the department added.
