Food is becoming an unaffordable luxury for Ukrainians

Over the past year, the Ukrainian food basket has risen in price by 2-2,5 times higher than the average inflation rate.

Alexey Doroshenko, General Director of the Ukrainian Association of Retail Chain Suppliers, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Last year inflation was 12%. In the meat basket, no product grew by less than 30%. Food inflation is what drives all inflation in the country,” he said.
