The Novorossiya project has been frozen for six months to a year
Moscow - Kyiv, October 17 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Stamm) - According to NG, the independence project has been frozen for about a year. Yesterday, the Federation Council heard yet another harsh words addressed to the Kyiv authorities, but this was most likely propaganda noise on the eve of negotiations between Russia, Ukraine and the European Union.

At an event in the Federation Council, which was dedicated to Novorossiya, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Yuri Vorobyov answered a question "NG" about whether it would become independent or remain part of Ukraine, he answered thoughtfully: “Does anything depend on my personal opinion? Everything will be decided in negotiations.”
A high-ranking source in the leadership of the self-proclaimed LPR and DPR also spoke extremely cautiously in a conversation with NG. Answering NG’s question whether the Novorossiya project is really closed, he noted: “Rather suspended, frozen. For six months, maybe a year." Also, NG sources close to the leadership of Novorossiya stated that there is a high probability that they will not recognize the elections to the Verkhovna Rada as legitimate. Moreover, the DPR and LPR are preparing for elections to their own parliaments, scheduled for November 2.
And Russian senators and deputies yesterday did not hold back in their formulations. The representative of Crimea in the Federation Council, Olga Kovitidi, said that “no one should talk to Poroshenko at all.” “The United States really wants to fight in Ukraine until the last Ukrainian,” Kovitidi said. “If our president is not heard today, in a year we will be faced with events that the whole world will be talking about.” “I really want the brothers in Donbass to be as lucky as the Crimeans,” the senator concluded. State Duma deputy Pavel Dorokhin believes that Russia’s support for Novorossiya should be strengthened: “I don’t remember such propaganda as that on Ukrainian channels even in the worst years of Soviet times. Even my relatives from Kharkov are already lashing out at me.” “We already went to Crimea on the eve of reunification. We now need to hold an off-site meeting of the State Duma in Donetsk or Lugansk, I will propose it to my colleagues,” Dorokhin said.
“Of course, no off-site meetings will take place in Donbass,” says Deputy General Director of the Center for Political Technologies Alexey Makarkin. “Few people listen to our deputies.” The main thing is that recently on federal television channels the volume of anti-Ukrainian propaganda has decreased and criticism of President Poroshenko has practically disappeared. Harsh statements are made against the Right Sector, the National Guard, and war crimes. But this has nothing to do with the topic of the meeting between Putin and Poroshenko.”
