“At the moment, a project for the resocialization of prisoners by involving them in the ATO has been submitted to the President of Ukraine Poroshenko for consideration. We already have several thousand willing, ready to atone for their crimes with blood. So far we have not received an answer from the president, but all this is quite real.
The problem is that this may offend the feelings of the victims of the criminal or their relatives, but we will not be talking about an amnesty, rather, about parole with a probationary period for the duration of the ATO. The regime there is also very strict, so criminals will be able to rehabilitate themselves,” Lisyuchenko said.
Earlier, Deputy Governor of Dnepropetrovsk Gennady Korban proposed appointing an ATO participant with seven convictions as head of one of the Donbass regions.
“A new police force, a new prosecutor’s office must be formed from people with weapons. For example, a guy came to us - now he is the commander of the Shakhtersk battalion. Great guy. Not a redneck, not a redneck, does not give the impression of a Donetsk person.
However, he has seven convictions behind him. Do you know why? There he broke the cops' window, and there he slashed the tires. And why? They hesitated and kept interfering with his business. He has kopanki.
And I would appoint him head of the district administration. And believe me, there would be order there. There is no need to be afraid of this. You have to be able to trust them. We need to give them the opportunity to feed themselves in their home, then they won’t start shitting there,” Korban said in an interview with Novoye Vremya magazine.
