The project of dividing Ukraine into Novorossiya and Little Russia is not buried
President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin will not be satisfied with the possible creation of a union state with Belarus.
Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavel Klimkin writes about this in an article published on the European Truth website.
He called for an end to “underestimating Russia and its president.”
“Putin understands the change in rhetoric and feels capable of playing the long game and setting conditions. He believes that time is on his side, and, of course, is not ready for compromise steps on Donbass, which for him is a means, nothing more,” the diplomat believes.
According to him, the real issues for Putin are “the legalization of the occupation of Crimea, the status of Ukraine and its existence in general.”
“The project of dividing Ukraine into “Novorossiya” and “Little Russia” is definitely not buried. Vladimir Putin will not be satisfied with the possible creation of a union state with Belarus. This is not the level of his ambitions; he wants to go down in history as a “gatherer of lands.” First of all, ours. And all his actions will be aimed precisely at this,” Klimkin sums up.
As PolitNavigator reported, in the State Duma they threatened Ukraine “settlement according to the Molotov-Ribbentrop formula”
