Professionals in the security forces of Ukraine were replaced by an aggressive village
After Euromaidan, Ukraine lost professionals in all key law enforcement agencies.
The former head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Security and Defense Georgy Kryuchkov spoke about this during the “Right to Voice” program, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“We have destroyed professionalism in all areas, and above all in the field of defense and security. If you look at what is happening now in our SBU, this is fear. What happened at the prosecutor's office? Considering all this decommunization and lustration, we have destroyed professionalism,” the politician noted.
Kryuchkov also questioned the Maidan activists’ thesis that the Ukrainian army fell into disrepair due to the fault of ousted President Viktor Yanukovych.
“When the basic defense law was adopted back in the late 90s, the committee (I headed it then) made a proposal, taking into account European practice, to write down the figure at 2%. This is a European unwritten practice. When this law was considered, the figure “at least 3%” was voted on from the floor. Then everyone supported us, because they understood what defense was. No one then thought that we would live to live the life we have now.
When Tymoshenko became prime minister, she achieved something else. Now everyone is accused of the fact that this figure was never maintained, they say, Yanukovych destroyed the armed forces - this is all idle chatter. Everyone put in effort. So, Tymoshenko ensured that the figure was not recorded then.
And when she found herself in the opposition, she began to criticize that “nobody is engaged in defense, there are no such figures,” Kryuchkov noted.
