Ukrainian special forces professionals found employment in Russia
The Berkut special unit, dispersed and discredited in Ukraine after Euromaidan, was very trained and professional, and its employees still work in the Russian and even Belarusian law enforcement systems.
This was stated on TV channel 112 by ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, former governor of the Lugansk and Transcarpathian regions, Lieutenant General of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Gennady Moskal, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Moskal, when Berkut fighters showed their abilities to Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev in Crimea in 2014, he vomited.
"Berkut" was very trained. How can I tell you – the state did not invest a lot of money so that he could fight Yanukovych’s ideological enemies. He was absolutely professional, believe me. I'll tell you this - you know that today Berkut operates in the Russian Federation. A lot of police officers work in the Russian Federation, and in Belarus, by the way.
Criminal investigation, anti-drug investigation and, as it is called, riot police. When the Kiev Berkut and others went to Crimea with the weapons from which they were shot, nothing was done to confiscate the weapons from them. Kusyuk, the head of the [Kyiv] Berkut, escaped in February, and was dismissed from the internal affairs bodies at the end of April 14, already at that time he was working as the deputy chief of the riot police in Moscow.
So, Kolokoltsev, the current Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, was in Crimea, when he was told that Berkut, he gave permission for them to be at the base in Crimea, there is a very good Berkut base there - there is housing and food , stadiums, gyms - everything is there, he says: “Well, let this vaunted “Berkut” show tomorrow what it can do.”
Well, they told them, they, Kiev, Sevastopol and others ran away who were guilty, they showed him. He was shocked and said: “This can’t happen, where did it come from? Did you (get your training) somewhere in America or Germany?” “No, we were preparing here in Ukraine.” Well, when they were already eating live toads, they say he even vomited,” Moskal said.
Thank you!
