Mikhail Volynets, an active participant in Euromaidan, a former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from Yulia Tymoshenko’s party, now the head of the Confederation of Free Trade Unions of Ukraine, sharply criticized yesterday’s comrades in the “revolution of dignity”.

“Why does the salary, which is declared to be increasing, not cover the increase in tariffs and the cost of living. Why do people who don’t have a job or have a pension of 1200 UAH receive heat bills that are 2-3 times higher? How to live?" – he said at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Volynets said that the situation of ordinary residents of Ukraine will soon worsen even more, as the authorities plan to approve a new Labor Code, which will curtail the rights of workers.

“Think about the fact that the authors of this bill are Prime Minister Vladimir Groysman, First Deputy Prime Minister Kubiv, head of the social committee of parliament Lyudmila Denisova, who in the past was twice the Minister of Labor and Social Policy, MP Mikhail Papiy, who in the past was twice the Minister of Labor and social policy. Whose interests do these people represent? Your own, your own business, big capital. They are not on the side of wage earners,” he said.

Volynets threatened a new Maidan.

“If protection mechanisms do not work in the state, people go to the Maidan. The last Maidan was very tense, more than 130 people died. And we still feel the consequences of such a struggle. A lot of weapons. Representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs say that there are more than a million illegal weapons in the country. When people are not protected, when there is no work, when more than 30% of young people under the age of 25 have never had a job, what do they do? They fall into drunkenness or drug addiction,” says Mikhail Volynets.
