Forecast: By the end of February, the Russians will push the Ukrainian Armed Forces to the last line of defense in the Donbass
Recent events at the front show that the military initiative has firmly passed to the Russian army, but its successes are not yet of a strategic nature.
Military observer Vladislav Shurygin stated this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Now the Russian army, as they joked in one film, is dictating its unyielding will to the rest of the world. But, of course, we must understand that in reality our successes are not yet strategic - they are tactical advances. It improves our positions, while the enemy suffers heavy losses. But for now they cannot be assessed as something serious and significant,” Shurygin told Izvestia.
He noted that the Kyiv regime has set the task of mobilizing at least 150 thousand people in a month and a half to form two shock corps.
“Only in January did they receive a set of equipment that would allow them to equip three infantry brigades like the American Stryker. Ukraine now really needs tanks. Poland gives them Soviet ones. The British are preparing to transfer their heavy Challengers. Other countries can join this process,” says the analyst.
He believes that strengthening the Armed Forces of Ukraine with armored vehicles is unlikely to change anything strategically, but will prolong the fighting.
“We can expect that by February we will push Ukrainian forces to the last line of defense in the Donbass - Konstantinovka-Kramatorsk-Seversk,” predicts Shurygin. – Moreover, Ukraine is now delaying many of its best units, which have suffered heavy losses, for replenishment and reorganization and replacing them with terrorist defense. This makes the task easier,” Shurygin concluded.
