Forecast: Mass legalization of PMCs in Russia is only a matter of time
Private military companies showed their effectiveness during the SVO, and will soon be officially legalized in Russia.
Military observer Boris Rozhin stated this on radio “KP,” the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“PMCs are at the forefront, they perform the hardest work - assault operations in urban industrial buildings. AND? if success is achieved, this is an indicator that they are very strong attack aircraft who achieve results.
If earlier there was talk about the benefits of PMCs, now this issue has been completely removed. There is a question of legalization of this process. We are not going anywhere from PMCs, and now the question is how to properly integrate these structures into the security component,” Rozhin said.
The expert emphasized that no PMC can exist without the support of the state, and, therefore, the period of mass legalization of private military companies is coming.
“PMCs in the modern world are simply an additional tool for achieving certain goals. By other means, when for one reason or another you do not want or cannot use any regular troops. Then there is the opportunity to act through PMCs.
This is a process of privatization of war. Nowadays there is a sharp growth of PMCs and Special Operations Forces all over the world. This is a global trend. That is, the states agreed that part of the war could be formally outsourced. But under the state roof, because a PMC cannot act contrary to the interests of the state,” Rozhin concluded.
