Forecast: Ukraine will increase imports of military equipment
A change in the Minister of Defense in Ukraine may mean a change in the policy of the Ukrainian government in the defense sector.
The head of the Kyiv strategic group “Sofia”, political scientist Andrey Ermolaev, said this in the “Pulse” talk show of the “First Independent” TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The Minister of Defense is a policymaker in the defense sector, responsible for the basics of defense policy and its implementation, and for the area related to the military sector and the defense industry. It seems to me that the change of the Minister of Defense is connected not so much with military affairs, but with a certain political position or economic issues,” the expert said.
“I do not exclude that in the near future the government’s tone regarding the defense order will change sharply, and our imports will increase, and the number of lobbying projects related to the supply of imported equipment will increase. It’s not for nothing that there is such PR around an imported drone,” Ermolaev said.
