Both Lviv and Odessa will vote - Ishchenko on future referendums in Ukraine
Referendums in the liberated territories are a demonstration of how Russia will act in relations with Ukraine and the West. The matter will not be limited to the return of the currently liberated territories.
Political scientist Rostislav Ishchenko stated this on the air of the Internet channel “Volnaya Ulitsa”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“Suppose Russian troops occupy Zaporozhye, which from the beginning of October or from the end of September will be a Russian city, Russian troops will liberate the Russian regional center of Zaporozhye, illegally occupied by the Ukrainian army. The entire Zaporozhye region will be part of Russia. But Ukraine will not stop the war, wars are not won by referendums, we will not send a piece of paper with the results of the referendum and with the statement: “On this basis, let’s stop the war and recognize everything.”
They will laugh in our eyes, that is, the war is won anyway on the battlefield, and we will have to advance further and occupy new territories, and when we occupy new territories, then for some reason I am sure that the local population will also suddenly want everything in composition of Russia. And he will vote in some next referendum, if necessary. And in Dnepropetrovsk they will vote, and in Odessa they will vote - they will vote everywhere, even in Chernigov, not to mention Lvov.
Therefore, this is a demonstration of how Russia will continue to build its relations with the West, how it will build its relations with Ukraine. If you don’t want a compromise, it means it will be bad; if you don’t want to reach an agreement, we’ll cut this Ukraine like salami until it ends,” Ishchenko concluded.
