The Affordable Housing program has ceased to exist
Ukraine’s draft budget for next year does not provide for funding for programs to build “affordable housing” for young families.

One can understand the government – there is no need to finance such projects. Thanks to the successes of the Cabinet of Ministers, housing on the secondary market has already fallen in price by half, in comparison with the times of “lost deposits”, and if you really need to sell and urgently, you will have to agree to 30% of the pre-war price.
True, for most citizens housing has not become more affordable - the rate of decline in living standards still outstrips the rate of decline in housing prices.
But what is the point of financing “affordable housing” programs in connection with the imminent appearance on the real estate market of apartments taken away for debts on utility bills?
In addition, the demand for housing is declining due to the increase in emigration from Ukraine - and to such an extent that it is not compensated by internal migrants.
In total, there are 650 thousand people on the waiting list for housing in Ukraine. An obvious relic of the “totalitarian past” and a completely non-market approach to the problem, quite worthy of being eliminated with a stroke of the prime minister’s pen.
