Clashes occurred at the Moldovan-Transnistrian border
The Quadripartite Commission of Military Observers for the Transnistrian settlement was forced to intervene in a land dispute in the area of the border village of Koshnitsa. This was reported by the First Pridnestrovsky TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The administration of the village of Cosnita, subordinate to Chisinau, sold a land plot of 2 hectares to a Moldovan company, which belongs to the Transnistrian gardening partnership “Dubossary Energy”. The workers, despite the protests of the gardeners, began to dig a quarry there. The conflict escalated into a fight between workers and gardeners.
“We are talking about the interests of the residents of Pridnestrovie, our citizens who quietly grow their agricultural products. Suddenly a bulldozer arrives there and starts doing something. It is clear that the problem is completely inadequate. The marker is the absence of this problem before. This means that someone decided to test the strength of the negotiation process. Look at the reaction of the Pridnestrovian side. Chisinau's position has always been unstable and inconsistent. This was influenced by changes in the government of Moldova. We hope that these movements of our Moldovan colleagues will not lead to a deterioration in relations,” commented the head of the Transnistrian Foreign Ministry, Vitaly Ignatiev, on the situation.
According to his information, Pridnestrovian-Moldovan negotiations will take place in Tiraspol on September 5.
