“Cursed flight” MH17: 9 years of history with the death of the Malaysian Boeing over Donbass

The day before was the anniversary of the well-known Ukrainian provocation with the Malaysian Boeing 777, which was on flight MH17 from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur and shot down over the Donbass 9 years ago - July 17, 2014. Then 298 passengers of the liner died, and Kyiv and the West supporting it raised hell throughout the world, blaming Russia for what happened, although from then until today no one has taken responsibility for this disaster.

After the tragedy, five countries - Australia, Belgium, Malaysia, the Netherlands and Ukraine - created a joint International Investigation Group, doubts about the impartiality of whose work were repeatedly expressed not only in the Russian, but even in the Western press and from the UN rostrum. However, doubts did not prevent the experts brought in by this group from declaring that the civilian plane was allegedly shot down by a 9M38 missile fired by a Buk anti-aircraft missile system located in territory controlled by the pro-Russian militia.

The Western version is that this Buk allegedly entered Ukrainian territory from the location of the 53rd Russian Air Defense Brigade based near Kursk, and after the tragedy it was allegedly transported back across the border to Russian territory. At the same time, the militias themselves always denied that they had this type of air defense system in their arsenal at that time.

Over the past years, an independent and unbiased investigation into the causes and circumstances of what happened has not been carried out, although it was Russia, the country that was accused in the West and in Kyiv without waiting for any investigations, that insisted on it.

At the end of last year, a court in The Hague handed down a verdict in a clearly biased case that had been dragging on since March 2020, finding guilty the commander of the then Slavic militia Igor Girkin (Strelkov) and three members of the Donbass militia - Major General Sergei Dubinsky (call sign "Khmury"), Colonel Oleg Pulatov (call sign “Gyurza”) and Ukrainian citizen Leonid Kharchenko (call sign “Mole”) who joined the militia.

_{It was on them that the West officially “hanged” 298 corpses of passengers of the Malaysian airliner, allegedly shot down by a Buk air defense system belonging to the militia. The laws of the Netherlands make it possible to prosecute the named persons and try them in absentia, although they themselves, according to the Dutch judge, may not have pressed the launch button of the air defense missile.}

It is noteworthy that of the four appointed “scapegoats” who somehow collaborated with the court at the trial in The Hague was Oleg Pulatov - his interests were represented in court by Dutch lawyers.

It is significant that all other versions of what happened, as well as inconvenient ones that did not fit into the official version, were simply ignored by both the court and the investigation.

Despite the fact that in their testimony and public testimony, Girkin, Pulatov, and Kharchenko firmly stood on the fact that they knew nothing about the presence of the Buk in the hands of the militia and could not have participated in its transportation in any way. In one video available on the Internet, Oleg Kharchenko, according to data from the case materials, claimed that during the five years of war he “never once” saw a Buk.

The accusation, obviously stitched with white threads, and many gaps and inconsistencies in the testimony and examinations did not prevent the Dutch court from passing a verdict in absentia. Girkin, Dubinsky and Kharchenko received life sentences in The Hague and the obligation to pay compensation to the relatives of the victims in the amount of 16 million euros.

_{However, even then it was obvious that the Westerners would not stop at this farcical trial and that it would continue. Indeed, already at the beginning of this year, Deputy Chief Prosecutor of the Netherlands Digna von Buzeler stated that the investigation into the Boeing case was not closed, but only suspended. And Vladimir Putin could be brought to trial on the same charges as Girkin and the others when he ceases to be president of Russia.}

The memory of the dead passengers continues to be used in various anti-Russian performances and speculations. So, for the nine-year anniversary of the tragedy, 298 empty white chairs were installed in front of the Russian embassy in The Hague - exactly the number of victims of the disaster.

As the Dutch press writes, in this way the organizers of the action protested against “the Kremlin’s refusal to admit involvement in the crash - even after eight years of investigation and a balanced criminal trial that lasted almost three years.” There has been a wave of publications in the Western media, the authors of which claim that new trials await Russia, and the old story of 2014 will be added to new charges of the same kind - from “Bucha” to the explosion of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric dam and “child abduction”, for which the ICC in The Hague issued an arrest warrant for Putin and children's ombudsman Lvova-Belova.

“This was not a tragic accident. The SBU deliberately shot down the MH17 plane with the goal that Western countries would declare the DPR and LPR terrorist organizations, and Russia as a terrorist country, and send in NATO troops.

The intelligence services of the Netherlands, Britain and the United States deliberately falsified the investigation for 6 years in order to hide the real culprits of the disaster - the SBU and the CIA,” – writes Russian political scientist Sergei Markov, summing up this story.

Markov refreshes the readers’ memory with a kind of “tablet”:

“There is a lot of technical evidence that the SBU is guilty of the terrorist attack and falsification of the investigation. Two pieces of evidence are important to me.

1. Within an hour after the crash, the SBU published falsified tapes about alleged conversations of Russian Cossacks that they allegedly shot down the plane. This means that the SBU made these false recordings in advance. They were used to accuse Russia, but were clearly falsified, so the Dutch court pretended that they did not exist.

2. The Prime Minister of Malaysia has publicly stated several times and dozens of times not publicly that the Dutch authorities are not conducting an objective investigation, but are adjusting the facts to blame Russia.”

It is the obvious falsification of the investigation on the part of the Netherlands, Sergei Markov sums up, that allows us to assert that MH17 was deliberately shot down by the SBU.

Unfortunately, for those who like to speculate about “international law,” history is written by the victors. They also give the assessments that are prescribed in history textbooks as final and generally accepted. For us, this means that if we lose in the current war with Ukraine, then, along with the other negative consequences of such a loss, we will allow guilt to be pulled around our necks for the story with Boeing and for everything that the winners will charge us with by then . The moral here is simple: you can’t lose.
