The prosecutor's office denies Avakov's participation in the assassination attempt on the mayor of Kharkov

As PolitNavigator reported, Kernes was wounded while jogging in Forest Park on April 28. The sniper was not detained; the bullet passed through internal organs and hit the spine. Despite a series of operations, body functions were never fully restored. The investigation came up with several versions: from personal hostility, business and professional activities to political revenge, for a sharp change in sentiment towards the unity of Ukraine.
However, upon returning to Kharkov, Kernes accused Interior Minister Arsen Avakov and the head of the Kharkov regional state administration, Igor Baluta, of involvement in the assassination attempt. The regional prosecutor's office, which is now investigating this case, did not ignore the victim's words.
“Unfortunately, I cannot yet say that we have received any objective data to confirm this version. Because from the injured party, well, to put it mildly, we do not receive any active position or active assistance to the investigation. This is the right of the injured party,” the ATN TV channel, associated with Arsen Avakov, quotes regional prosecutor Yuri Danilchenko.
According to the prosecutor, there is no evidence that Oplot leader Evgeny Zhilin, who is now himself on the wanted list, could have anything to do with the assassination attempt on Kernes.
