As it became known to the publication, UCK bandits are accused of committing crimes against humanity, murder, persecution, torture and kidnapping against at least 400 people in several places throughout Kosovo and northern Albania between March 1998 and September 1999. Their victims were persecuted for being suspected of having a negative attitude towards the Kosovo Liberation Army, and then towards the separatist regime of the province.

Among the victims are Serbs, Roma, Ashkali (Albanian-speaking Muslim Gypsies), Catholic Albanians and Albanians loyal to Yugoslavia, as well as supporters of the Democratic League of Kosovo, which competed with the Democratic Party of Kosovo created by the militants, and other political parties.

The report states that Thaçi, Veseli, Selimi and Krasinići and other members of the UCK gang played key roles in crimes, illegal abductions, arrests, torture and murder and had “the common goal of establishing and maintaining control over all of Kosovo, using intimidation, harassment, violence and even the elimination of those they identify as adversaries.” In some episodes they appear as persons who gave orders for reprisals, and in others as personally participating in interrogations and torture.

“From November 1998 to June 1999, prisoners in Kleczka were kept in basements with dirty floors, bloody walls, and poor hygienic and sanitary conditions,” says one of the episodes of the indictment. – Some UCK members regularly subjected detainees to severe beatings and psychological violence. The detainees were blindfolded, beaten with batons, pipes and pieces of wire, kicked, punched and threatened with death. They could hear and see other prisoners being mistreated."

In paragraph 35 of the indictment, in addition to Thaci and the leadership of the terrorist gang, Azem Sulya, Lashi Brahmay, Fatmir Limay, Suleiman Selimi, Rustem Mustafa, Shukri Buya, Latif Gashi, Sabit Gechi and other bandits who became commanders of paramilitary gangs and subsequently ministers are mentioned. Kosovo government."

While killing and torturing his victims in the 90s, Hashim Thaci was not tormented by pangs of conscience.

Among other things, it is alleged that people were taken to Klečka, where they were killed by militants under the command of Fatmir Limaj. When describing the events in Malishevo, it is said that prisoners were kept in overcrowded temporary cells without food, water or medical care: they were regularly beaten with iron rods, batons, fists, shot over their heads and threatened with death. They heard and saw other prisoners being tortured, calling them spies collaborating with the Serbs.

The same principle was followed by fanatics in Glogovac and Pristina, where prisoners were beaten with shovels, in Vitina, where people were beaten with boards, in Likovac - with baseball bats. In Novo Brdo, bandits stuck a pistol in a Serb's mouth. The document states that in July 1998, Serbs from Orahovac and nearby villages were attacked, kidnapped and taken to the former police station in Malisevo. At the same time, the accused Jakup Krasniqi was even in the same room with the abducted persons, interrogating them.

The murder portion of the charge lists those directly killed or who died as a result of torture. The killings took place in the Likovac, Jablanica and Lapusnik camps. According to the investigation, 30 prisoners were taken from the Lapushnik camp, who were divided into two groups of 15 people each, one was released, and the other was shot on Berisha Hill. Among them was an Albanian professor of philology, specializing in Russian, who was killed for being a translator for a Russian television crew.

Atrocities also occurred in Albania, adjacent to Kosovo. Thus, according to the indictment, at a former metallurgical plant in Kukes in northern Albania, prisoners were subjected to brutal treatment on a daily basis and were eventually killed or died from torture. Sabit Geci is mentioned here as the main torturer who cut off the head of a Serbian policeman with a chainsaw. There is also an episode in the case when a Serb prisoner, who was not allowed to drink, was given a solvent to drink.

In the News article, the authors recall that the current Democratic presidential candidate Joseph Biden once compared Hashim Thaci to the first American president, George Washington. And they express doubt that if the democrat wins, the Kosovo fanatics will be condemned for their atrocities.
