Smart expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that the police could not maintain order during the March 16 rally, when pro-Russian activists stormed the building of the regional prosecutor's office.
“The police suffered minor injuries. But how could he get hurt? The state authorities did not take active measures to protect them,” the prosecutor said.
He said that the police walked freely through the corridors, without stopping anyone.
“Even the protesters are not afraid of them; they won’t touch them. The police do not fulfill their duties and it is very difficult to rely on them today,” Frantovsky complained.
As reported by Navigator, on March 16 in Donetsk, during pro-Russian rallies, protesters broke into the building of the regional prosecutor's office, the regional department of the Security Service of Ukraine and the office of the Industrial Union of Donbass.
