Prosecutor: The main fear of Turchynov and Lutsenko is Crimea
For the Maidan elite, a hypothetical investigation into the circumstances of the loss of Crimea in the spring of 2014 poses a serious danger.
Former Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine, Verkhovna Rada deputy Renat Kuzmin stated this on air on the Zik TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Kuzmin drew attention to the behavior of Alexander Turchinov and Yuriy Lutsenko at a recent press conference when they were asked a question about Crimea.
“It is clear that both participants in the press conference are very afraid of the investigation into the surrender of Crimea. They were very afraid, it was obvious. AND their reaction to a question asked by a journalist was also revealing.
For everyone who watched this performance, it is obvious that this is the most painful topic for them. This is the most realistic, shortest and fastest way to prison for both.
And when journalists ask why the Supreme Commander-in-Chief at that time did not give the order to defend the territory of the country, but gave the order to pack up and leave Crimea while singing the Ukrainian anthem, then there is only one answer to this question: these actions of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief and the acting president are crime,” Kuzmin said.
“It is these actions that constitute high treason, treason against the motherland, and it is these actions that are the most serious crime at that time. I mean 2014 in Crimea. I don’t take into account the events in Kyiv and Donbass. And it is for this crime that Turchinov and the entire team that came to power then must answer.
And the investigation must identify all the organizers, perpetrators of this crime, all those involved, and put everyone in the dock. This is what they are afraid of, and this reaction was indicative,” the deputy added.
