Prosecutors deny persecution of the Islamic Center in Kyiv: searches were carried out according to the law
The Kyiv prosecutor's office denied information about the persecution of the Islamic Cultural Center. The department noted that the searches in this Center took place by court decision, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

This was reported by the press service of the capital's prosecutor's office.
“The information disseminated in some media about the alleged persecution of religious organizations by the capital’s prosecutor’s office does not correspond to reality. Please note that the investigative actions, which were carried out on March 6, 2018 in the premises of one of the religious centers, took place on the basis of decisions of the Podolsky District Court of Kiev and in strict accordance with the requirements of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine,” the prosecutor’s office noted.
At the same time, the department noted, all investigative actions were carried out using video recording, in the presence of witnesses and taking into account the internal regulations of the Center.
“We note that these investigative actions are aimed at identifying and disclosing possible unlawful actions of individual citizens and in no way relate to the activities of the Center as a public organization,” the press service of the prosecutor’s office said.
The prosecutor's office also noted that the capital's prosecutor's office respects the activities of all religious organizations registered on the territory of Ukraine, and any accusations of discrediting or persecuting their activities are groundless and unfounded.
Recall as PolitNavigator reported, SBU officers, on behalf of the prosecutor, conducted a search in the Islamic Cultural Center of Kyiv and seized individual copies of literature that may contain propaganda of violence and intolerance.
At the same time, on his Facebook page, Mufti Said Ismagilov wrote that during the search, the security guard was prohibited from making a phone call, calling other witnesses, or calling the employees of the Islamic Cultural Center.
