“They fly all over Ukraine in a few minutes”: complaints about new Russian missiles
Ukraine has nothing with which to shoot down the latest Russian Zircon-type missiles, especially since they are constantly being modernized and are improving.
Ukrainian aviation expert Kirill Novikov stated this on Radio NV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The Russian rocket industry is based on the Soviet rocket science system. It cannot be said that over the past 30 years they have learned to release something fundamentally new.
But one of the latest developments is Zircon. This is one of the few hypersonic missiles in the world that can reach speeds of up to Mach 9. And at such a speed it is extremely difficult to somehow shoot down or deactivate it. For such a missile, the entire territory of Ukraine is a few minutes of flight", Novikov said.
“There is already information about the availability of a ground-based option, and not just a sea-based one. And this applies not only to Zircon, but also to other types of weapons.
In fact, the events of recent years have also led Russians to adapt their developments to new realities. That is, they convert ground-based launch complexes into aviation ones, or vice versa.
In fact, they radically change the conditions for which it was developed. This leads to modifications such as, for example, a missile initially designed for a range of 600 kilometers; over the past two years, a modification has appeared with a range of up to 1000 kilometers“, the expert complained.
