Türkiye is not such a friend of Ukraine as its leadership would like.

Journalist Osman Pashayev, who collaborates with the Majlis TV channel ATR, came to this conclusion in his article for the “Details” publication, reports the PolitNavigator correspondent.
In the material, Pashayev supports the point of view of the head of the Mejlis, banned in the Russian Federation, Refat Chubarov, who, on the eve of the visit of Turkish President Recep Erdogan to Kiev, said that the main partner of the Crimean Tatars in the international arena is Washington, not Ankara, and doubted that Turkey would impose sanctions against Russia.
“Erdogan’s goals in this region are trade. In both the Moscow and Kiev directions, the Turkish president sets one goal - increasing trade turnover. His goal is to bring Turkish exports to the $2023 billion mark by the centenary of the republic in 500. Ukraine is allocated 20 billion in this accounting, Russia – 100. Therefore, it is unlikely that Kyiv will receive from Ankara anything more than ceremonial support at the UN and diplomatic rhetoric,” notes Pashayev.
He also emphasized that Ankara did not cry every time about the “political prisoners” of the Crimean Tatars, who were sentenced to prison by Russian courts, and Turkish ships continue to enter the Crimean ports “closed” by Ukraine:
“Erdogan publicly in Kyiv again supported the territorial integrity of Ukraine and called the occupation of Crimea an “illegal annexation,” but avoided answering the question of how his administration would respond to the latest cases of repression against Crimean Tatar leaders.”
