Mejlis propagandist denounces American President
At the beginning of the Russian Spring, there were about 15 thousand Mejlis members in Crimea who were ready to take up arms, but they were not given them and they persuaded the leaders of a group banned in the Russian Federation not to take their supporters to the streets of Simferopol in 2014.
The fugitive Russian liberal journalist Aider Muzhdabaev, who works for the Majlis propaganda, stated this on air on the Politeka Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the journalist, the blame for the fact that Crimea came under Russian control lies personally with former US President Barack Obama and Western leaders, who persuaded the leadership of the Mejlis and Ukraine not to resist in Crimea.
“When 15 thousand Crimean Tatars, I emphasize, adult men of military age, gathered near the Supreme Council of Crimea, they were persuaded by the Mejlis to remove people from there, that they need to go home, everything will work out, we will solve everything. It was the Western partners who whispered. But in fact, it was necessary to introduce martial law on the same day, and maybe earlier, and distribute weapons to these Crimean Tatars, who were absolutely motivated,” the propagandist believes.
“Can you imagine 15 thousand men with at least small arms? There were warehouses there. It was necessary to raise those units that were there, the landing units were stationed there, and so on. There were enough units to take control of key facilities and buildings, airports and roads, stop or flood ferries, and block everything possible. But this was not done. Of course, our authorities are to blame for this, but Barack Obama specifically and specific Western leaders are to blame for this, because they said that there is no need to do anything, there is no need to escalate the situation. And here is the result,” said Muzhdabaev.
