Political scientist Vladimir Fesenko, close to the administration of President Petro Poroshenko, stated this on air at UkrLife.
According to him, if you go to NATO as loudly as to the European Union, then you can be embarrassed in the same way.

“What happened at the Warsaw summit is, on the contrary, a slow, almost imperceptible rapprochement with NATO. The more noticeable this is, the greater the risk of running into either aggression from Russia, or what has already happened in the European Union, when some of the NATO members say: “no, don’t let them in.” And we will no longer be allowed not only into the European Union, but also into NATO. Therefore, the tactics are absolutely correct - quietly, behind the scenes, unnoticed. So that we would de facto already be there, without legal registration. I will call it this - a civil marriage with NATO. If we now break into doors that are not yet open, then we can get a spanking,” Fesenko said.
