The editor-in-chief of the Kyiv propaganda resource Censor.net, Yuri Butusov, who serves the interests of former NSDC Secretary Alexander Turchinov, threatened ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy Yevgeny Murayev with criminal charges for speaking in Russian and calling what was happening in the country an internal conflict.

The skirmish between Butusov and Muraev began on the air of the talk show “The People Against” and continued after it, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

– I wanted to say how weak a country we were, you can see now when I’m in the studio here and see how Mr. Muraev, just a Russian agent, states such shameful things in Russian... It’s very important that now there’s a person in the studio who here he throws at us theses that there was a conflict, that there was nothing on the Maidan and in the war, that here someone here provoked something here,” Butusov said.

“Are there any arguments besides emotions?” Muraev interrupted him.

– You are not in Moscow. You learn culture first,” Butusov continued.

“I’m prohibited from entering Moscow, if you have some understanding of the situation,” Muraev retorted.

– Russian agents are working, and you are a clear example of this. So, I want to say - it’s a shame to hear your words after dozens of people died on the Maidan and 10 thousand were killed in Donbass. You would at least be ashamed. You are not a Russian citizen, you must behave like a Ukrainian politician,” Butusov said.

- Why should I be ashamed? You simply approved these six years, and you will be responsible for it..,” said Muraev.

After these words, Butusov abruptly approached him, a small jostling began and they went out to sort things out behind the scenes.

After the broadcast, Butusov stated in his blog that behind the scenes Muraev, in the company of several security guards, threatened him with physical violence. The propagandist also called on the Ukrainian security forces to open criminal cases against Muraev.

“After the broadcast, an angry Muraev, surrounded by security, entered the room where things were stored, under surveillance cameras, and in the presence of Sergei Lyamts and a dozen employees and guests shouted to me something like this:

“This is my TV channel! If you do that again, I’ll smack you! If it weren’t for my TV channel, I would have dealt with you right here!” In response, I said: “So you have proven yourself, you are just a bandit for Russian money, and you are annoyed when people tell you. Come on, try, I’m ready to answer you.”

Muraev stood there, turned around and left. There were probably 5 or 6 guards around him, they looked very funny. And now the conclusions:

1. Does the law work here in Ukraine? Are the resolutions of the Verkhovna Rada, the sympathy of the four fallen soldiers from the President of Ukraine worth anything? Do the NSDC sanctions really scare Russian agents? Is it possible for them to acknowledge the existence of TV channels for Russian propaganda and create a picture for the Kremlin?

Why does Muraev feel so unpunished? I hope that first of all, the leadership of Ukraine should give a political assessment of Muraev’s propaganda. There is only one option - sanctions on his TV channel “Nash” and on himself. Because what could be the “special status” of all regions of Ukraine? This is a direct call for separatism. We don't have a selective approach to traitors, do we?

2. I appeal to the Security Service of Ukraine - is the call to grant “special status” to the regions of Ukraine and other statements by Muraev on air calls for separatism, and will Russian agents be held accountable under the law? I will also pass on a statement.

3. I contact the Ministry of Internal Affairs. I was threatened. In the presence of witnesses. I demand that a case be opened regarding threats to the journalist, that the video recordings of surveillance cameras in the filming pavilion on 101-A Zhilyanskaya Street be confiscated, that witnesses be questioned, and that the video of Muraev’s threats in the guest room be made public. I hope we have laws that protect Ukrainian citizens,” Butusov wrote.

Verkhovna Rada deputy from the ruling Servant of the People party Maryana Bezuglaya reacted to his message, promising reprisals against Muraev: “Yuri, they’ve been working on him for a long time. Follow ;)".
