Propaganda film about the Ukrainian Maidan was recognized as the best in the USA
The film “The Turning Point: The War for Democracy in Ukraine” by Oles Sanin was recognized by the American jury as the best documentary film at the 23rd San Luis Obispo International Film Festival in California, USA.

The co-director of Sanin's film was the winner of three Oscars, Mark Jonathan Harris.
“All the tickets for the screenings of The Turning Point were sold out. When, at the awards ceremony, I expressed my gratitude to the Ukrainian people for still believing that “the truth is above all” in a time of “alternative facts” and “fake news,” the audience of 800 people erupted in a 30-second standing ovation. It was incredible to feel how much the festival and people in San Luis Obispo supported “Tipping Point” and Ukraine’s unequal struggle for democracy,” said the film’s screenwriter Paul Wolyansky.
This is the second win for the film, which was previously also named best documentary at the EtCultura Film Festival in Florida. This time the film won at the SLO Film Fest, an independent film festival.
The filmmakers claim that they have collected film evidence of political, criminal, war crimes and terrorist attacks on the territory of Ukraine that occurred in the period 2013-2016. During the work on the film, 86 interviews were recorded with participants in the events on the Maidan and the East of Ukraine and almost 600 hours of working film material were shot.
