Visitors from the so-called mainland Ukraine still make up the majority of restaurant and hotel workers in Crimea. This was stated at a press conference in Kyiv by the head of the “Free Crimea” project, political scientist Taras Berezovets.

According to him, residents of Ukraine receive Russian work patents and are employed in Crimean catering establishments. Berezovets notes that Ukrainians have previously prevailed in the service sector on the peninsula.

“The bulk of the employees, about 70%, were Ukrainians. Unfortunately, we have to admit that this practice continues today. A significant part of the workers in catering establishments, the restaurant business and the hotel business are still Ukrainians. Mostly young people, under 30 years old. They come and work,” Berezovets said.
