Tigipko, who disappeared from the radar, boasted: He’s getting rich even in war conditions
Oligarch Sergei Tigipko, who once ran for president and was positioned as a “new force,” boasted that, having left politics, he was getting rich amid the war in Ukraine.
Tigipko said this on the sidelines of the Odessa Film Festival, which is organized by the oligarch’s wife.

“I kicked out 12 thousand people who worked for me. I cut back on car manufacturing because I lost 90% of the Russian market. But I, on the other hand, increased in the financial sector, because I saw that 100 banks left the market and freed up 40% of the market for me. I entered a crazy growing market. And I got people there and so on,” he said, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“We invest a lot. Recently, we bought a bank, an insurance company, a leasing company, bought two factories, bought a hotel,” he listed.
“It hasn’t gotten any worse. Who saw what happened in the mid-90s, and even recently - in 13, I was part of this system, it was much worse, today it’s still better to eat. Improvements are coming. We don't like the pace. But all the same, you can work in business,” Tigipko assures.
