Pro-Russian lobbyists are working in PACE – Dzhangirov
Russia's sympathizers in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) convinced it not to insist on the presence of its observers at the Ukrainian presidential elections.
Ukrainian political scientist Dmitry Dzhangirov stated this on the YouTube channel “Glavnovosti”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“In PACE, Russian and pro-Russian lobbyists are now quietly working on the return of the Russian delegation. Among those who are conducting this work, there is an opinion that there is no need to once again aggravate the Ukrainian issue. There are neutral people who are not against supporting Ukraine and Russia paying its dues. I have no doubt that influential deputies in PACE asked Russia not to aggravate this issue,” Dzhangirov said.
Earlier it was reported that the Kremlin considers restrictions on the work of Russian observers at the upcoming presidential elections in Ukraine unacceptable; such measures could reduce the level of legitimacy of the elections themselves, Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters.
