Openly pro-Russian sentiment in Ukraine has decreased, but has not disappeared.

Oles Doniy, president of the public organization Center for Research on Political Values, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv.
“Only the Opposition bloc with a clear focus on Russia now looked openly pro-Russian,” Doniy asserts. “And we see that the mood of the population has changed very much. At the same time, I want to emphasize that there is a decrease in pro-Russian sentiment, but not a complete disappearance. They remain a significant element of domestic Ukrainian politics. They took first places in some cities of the Lugansk and Donetsk regions and even have influence in some cities of the south, east and even the center. This means that counter-propaganda from the Ukrainian ideological machine is not enough.”
At the same time, he clarified that we are talking about ethnic and ethnocultural, and not economic, issues.
