“Farewell, unwashed Vida!”: Ukrainian victory has turned into a laughingstock
Croatian footballer Domagoj Vida publicly apologized on Russian TV for recordings with the historical slogan of Ukrainian fascists “Glory to Ukraine.”
“I want to apologize to the Russian people... Sorry, this is life. We have to learn from mistakes,” the footballer said.
“Well, now I’m interested in the reaction of the proud Sumerian people, who are already drawing posters for this cowardly scumbag, and their president is writing tweets to him. Zrada, as usual,” comments TV journalist Maxim Ravreba on his blog.
Last night, Petro Poroshenko published a special message on his Twitter in honor of the Croatian football player.
"No comments. Except: don’t create idols. Disposable,” wrote Ukrainian political scientist Evgeniy Magda, who works for the Poroshenko administration, today, commenting on the Croatian’s apology.
“The Croatian Vida apologized to the whole of Russia for the phrase “Glory to Ukraine!” How is this possible? Now what – should the “patriots” run and give a “5 star” rating to the FIFA page and write “Vida is an agent of the Kremlin”? There is no more faith in the Croats. In the final we will root for France. They are always with us against the aggressor. Macron will not deceive! – Ukrainian political scientist Dmitry Korneichuk comments caustically.
