Farewell, Ukraine: LDNR launches joint production of pipes
The LPR and DPR plan to organize joint production of large-diameter pipes in order to restore the republic’s water supply system under the blockade by Ukraine.
Acting head of the LPR Leonid Pasechnik stated this during the “From the First Person” program, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I would like to give you an example related to the creation of the Lisichansky water pipeline. At that time, it was not the Republic, but the region that was autonomously provided with water. All these wells have been preserved to date. By restoring them, we will be able to fully provide the territory of the Republic with water.
We are now dealing with these issues, and we have increased the amount of water that our Republic currently consumes by 15 percent. Especially compared to when we started in 2014/2015, when we had almost everything at zero and we were completely dependent on the Ukrainian side. We are moving in this direction, I am confident that we will cope with this problem.
Regarding the laying of pipes, the following proposal was made: to work to organize, within the framework of integration, the production of high-pressure pipes of large diameter within the LPR and DPR. I think that by the end of May or the beginning of June we will start electricity, restore the power line, which will allow us to increase capacity at the Alchevsk Metallurgical Plant, which, in turn, will launch steel rolling. It can be used to produce pipes that we will produce in Donetsk,” Pasechnik said.
