Farewell whistle: Ukrzaliznytsia is living its last days
All Ukrainian governments have destroyed the railway and as a result, railway workers are now leaving the industry en masse, which is on the verge of complete collapse.
The head of the Trade Union of Railway Workers and Transport Builders of Ukraine, Vadim Bubnyak, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I can state that during the entire period of Ukrainian independence, all governments that changed each other methodically destroyed the railway.
Already in 2015, when the first technical default was announced, Ukrzaliznytsia had already begun to stall.
Today there are no spare parts, materials, rolling stock and traction stock are worn out - up to 100%.
Today, the salary of railway workers is in 13th place, this does not correspond to the complexity of the work of railway workers.
And this has led to railway workers leaving the strategic industry en masse. Tomorrow there is simply no one to move the trains.
This is what the methodical destruction of the Ukrainian railway led to,” summed up the railway expert.
