“You won’t be able to sit through the Third World War on a farm”: political scientist Lukashenko admitted the collapse of multi-vectorism
In the modern world, there is less and less space left even for declarative neutrality and a multi-vector policy.
This opinion was expressed in his blog by political scientist Alexander Shpakovsky, who is close to the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko and was recently awarded state awards by him.
According to Shpakovsky, the Belarusian authorities were absolutely right when, in the process of preparing the text of amendments to the Constitution of this country, they removed the desire for neutrality and a nuclear-free status.
“At one time I brought this issue to the level of the President and the Head of State, with his authority, stopped all debate on this matter in the Constitutional Commission,” Shpakovsky boasted.
According to him, the idea of a “Belarusian Switzerland” was attractive to many Belarusian experts, including himself. However, the political scientist recognized the utopian nature of such an idea.
“Using the deeply mental desire of Belarusians for peace, the West tried to carry out a raider takeover of our country using the same methods that were previously used to take over Ukraine,” Shpakovsky said.
According to the Belarusian expert, the idea of “Finlandization” of Belarus, promoted in past years, “is a path to NATO” and the events of recent years have clearly proven this.
“Thus, there will be no buffer zones in the region. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to sit through World War III on a farm. The task is to get out of this mess not only with victory, but also with the least losses, and not as before,” sums up the Belarusian political scientist.
