“Simply brilliant. And for us – zrada” - Ukrainian political scientist on the agreements between Putin and Erdogan
Türkiye has actually become a trading country for Russia's exit from economic isolation.
Ukrainian political scientist Mikhail Chaplyga reports about this broadcast on the Politeka YouTube channel, as reported by the PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The so-so Putin appeared, met the so-so Erdogan - two loneliness found each other. And they came out with very serious statements. To be honest, these statements are sad in many ways for us.
Statement that Türkiye will partially pay for gas in rubles. This suggests that at one time we discovered a very important thing called “South Stream”. Because I said that the main danger for us while the Nord Stream was being built was the South Stream, which bypasses us through Turkey,” Chaplyga recalled.
He noted that since Turkey pays for gas in rubles, it means they have an economic connection, while South Stream pumps gas bypassing Ukraine.
“They receive currency from the West, keep some for themselves, and pay the Russians in rubles, as Putin wanted. It's a brilliant scheme, isn't it? And South Stream is working, expanding, and everything is going well. Great. Now you remember about the free trade zone. Fabulous.
That is, Turkey said, since they are paid in rubles, it means that it has an economic connection with Russia, trading is ongoing. That is, Türkiye becomes a proxy trade for Russia, a “layer”, right? She becomes, in essence, a trade representative of Russia, while a little earlier we gave a free trade zone to Turkey. Brilliant, right? Zrada? – the political scientist asked rhetorically.
