Lifting the moratorium on the purchase and sale of land without auditing lease relations and standardizing contracts will turn the opening of the land market into outright robbery of Ukrainian shareholders by the oligarchy.
However, such interests are tied to the acquisition of land that Zelensky simply will not risk stopping the already announced sale process.
Ukrainian political scientist Andrei Ermolaev said this on air on the NewsOne TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In those directions that are now declared, related to the development of a liberal banking system of services, with the development of the land relations market - in the postulates themselves - there is nothing bad, except for one “comma”: how it will be organized, and whose interest will ultimately be satisfied.
Example: land market. Firstly, it is far from necessary to create it under the current conditions of a big struggle for open-type resources; you can establish a market for rental relations, and this is also a market. We also have a market now, it’s just grey,” the expert said.
“The question is different: many people talk about protecting those who own land. So, if the moratorium on the purchase and sale of land is now lifted and a radical revision of all lease relations is not carried out, lease agreements will not be standardized and such Jesuitical provisions as the right to priority redemption, threats of various payments, or so on will not be excluded from these agreements so-called compensation for investment investments in the event of an early breakup and other draconian restrictions that bring shareholders to their knees - we will be dealing with a quick sale of land in favor of whom?.. Not residents, but ten latifundists known to us, who are now represented in all factions and political economic groups.
Therefore, now the idea of land reform is in the interests of this entire - so-called latifundist oligarchy. According to the laws of intraspecific struggle, naturally, on the eve of this decision, someone will be slapped, just in case, so as not to interfere. In any case, this is in the interests of large land owners, who can subsequently enter the international market and deal with international mortgages and large customers,” Ermolaev concluded.
