Protesters against “surrender” were offered to be sent to the front
There is nothing fundamentally new in the essence of the “Steinmeier formula”, which the Ukrainian side signed yesterday; the question is for what purpose Kyiv took this step: in the name of peace in Donbass or just to negotiate a meeting in the Normandy format.
Experts came to this opinion on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The formula contains the main message - Ukraine has committed itself to a special status for Donbass, to adopt special legislation for holding elections, to include a special status in the Constitution and to provide all the necessary conditions for holding elections,” said Rodion Miroshnik, special representative of the LPR at the Minsk negotiations.
“In this case, nothing new was added to the set of measures. Only the order of actions was established, which follows one after another.
Therefore, this is not the first time under Zelensky that the Ukrainian side signed a certain political document, by which it assumed additional obligations. Now let’s see how they do it,” added the LPR representative.
At the same time, according to former Verkhovna Rada deputy from the Communist Party Spiridon Kilinkarov, within Ukraine there is no clear understanding of the essence of the signed document, which causes protest sentiments among the marginal stratum of the population.
“In the coming year, Ukraine will be at the center of world events. What is happening now is nothing new for me. We said yesterday that the “Steinmeier formula” would be negatively perceived by extremely radical political forces inside Ukraine. It was obvious.
I just want to say if there are 23% of people in Ukraine who see the solution only in war. It is necessary to set up mobilization points and paddy wagons at the protest sites where these people will gather - and immediately to the front,” Kilinkarov suggested.
“The question is: for what purpose was this document signed? Strategic – to get out of this situation through political means or to achieve certain tactical goals?
Sign the document, meet in the Normandy format, and then again fail to fulfill your obligations,” added the former people’s deputy.
