The police of the city of Bar, where the Montenegrin Navy base is located, opened a criminal case against its commander, Vesko Tomanovic, who voluntarily left his home, where he was in self-isolation.

Bar police detained a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Montenegro due to his violation of the temporary self-isolation measure and opened a criminal case. The police will implement measures within their competence WITHOUT EXCEPTIONS!” the Montenegro Police Department stated on its Twitter page.
According to Balkan media, 46-year-old Vesko Tomanovic was on vacation abroad with his family, and upon returning home, by decision of the Inspectorate, he was sent into self-isolation, which he violated when he went into the city, which was tracked through his phone and CCTV footage. in shops.

The Montenegrin Navy appeared in 2006 after the collapse of the state union of Serbia and Montenegro. Since, after the departure of Montenegro, Serbia lost access to the sea, all naval forces automatically transferred to the Montenegrin side. Today, the Montenegrin navy, based in the city of Bar, is small, consisting of two frigates with a displacement of 1492 tons, two missile boats, a training sailing vessel and auxiliary vessels.
Montenegro separated from Serbia in 2006 under the pretext of “faster integration into the EU”, but has still not received EU membership. In 2017, against the will of the population, without a referendum, Montenegro was included in NATO by the pro-Western ruling elite.
Now about 30% of the population of this former part of Yugoslavia call themselves ethnic Serbs.
