While the last undead “Azovites” were coming out of the Azovstal catacombs with their hands raised, the creation of a new regiment, formed from ideological nationalists and Russophobes, was announced in Ukraine.

But this time the “cannon fodder” for the new formation was purchased imported. The Kalinovsky battalion, created from heterogeneous groups of Belarusian nationalists, announced its expansion to a regiment in the early days of the conflict.

As part of the new regiment, 2 battalions were created, named “Litvin” and “Volat”. Apparently, in honor of two liquidated Kalinov militants who took pathetic call signs (the word “Litvin” does not need translation, but “volat” can be translated as “giant, hero”). If so, then we should expect the next appearance of the “Hans” and “Terror” battalions; the liquidated militants from Belarus also had such call signs.

To be honest, they were clearly in a hurry to assign the status of a regiment to the formation of Belarusian nationalists. Its composition, according to Wikipedia (and in this case you can trust it, information is added there with enviable regularity by a person who is clearly familiar with the situation first-hand), includes only about 500 people and only two battalions. Apparently, the haste, as is typical for Ukraine, was dictated not so much by military as by PR considerations.

Of course, the short regiment named after Kalinovsky cannot stand any comparison with the Azov, which ingloriously ended its existence. Neither in numbers nor in training. If “Azov” are seasoned ideological Nazis who trained for several years, terrorized the civilian population and got used to impunity, then the Kalinovites are a motley rabble of Belarusian zmagars who escaped from prosecution and ordinary criminals, people who are somehow offended by the regime, simply sadists seeking thrills.

This entire motley campaign is diluted with a small number of professional military personnel, as well as celebrities and bloggers with PR specialists responsible for the media promotion of the “brand.” Perhaps only the latter cope well with their task.

The under-regiment is well represented on social networks, has a Telegram channel and a Youtube channel, and is actively promoted by opposition media. We are shown how the Kalinovites take the oath, undergo training, and are shown the “success stories” of individual militants, where they tell how they got to this point in life. In Zmagar circles it is customary to call them heroes, although, in general, they did not do anything heroic.

The unit does not report anything intelligible about any direct military successes. It is known that they fought near Kiev, showed up in Bucha, and the further military path is vaguely visible. Rumor has it that after the first unsuccessful battles, the Ukrainian military authorities took their heads, removed the Belarusian Nazis away from the front line and began actively training.

In Belarus itself, the Kalinovites have already acquired the nickname “selfie battalion.” Now, presumably, they will be called a “selfie regiment.” However, you should not treat it with disdain. Now its significance is not so much in combat, but in the information and psychological plane. First of all, it is an element of the information war of NATO and Ukraine against Belarus itself.

Before our eyes, a “heroic” image of a Belarusian radical, who went with his “brothers” to fight the “orcs from the East”, but who promises to return back and continue the war on Belarusian territory, is being actively created, which is actively unusual for the Belarusian man in the street. Unfortunately, such an image sometimes turns out to be attractive for the disoriented part of young people. They worked long and purposefully to create Russophobic sentiments in Belarus.

By the way, about the intention to transfer the war to Belarusian territory - such plans are not hidden about them. For example, yesterday, speaking on the Polish Belarusian-language TV channel Belsat, non-regiment fighter Vadim Kabanchuk, a once famous opposition activist in the Belarusian Bobruisk with a criminal past, promised to return and open prisons with political prisoners, and kill and destroy those who interfere with this.

“Sleep with it and remember - we will come to you. And this time will come very soon,” Kabanchuk said in conclusion, addressing the Belarusian riot police and guards.

Despite the bravado, these words should be taken seriously. Now in Ukraine an armed formation of ethnic Belarusians is being created, which can be used against Belarus itself. Yes, now it looks like a caricature, but it is not only actively promoted and replenished through rabid propaganda, but also undergoes training and ideological pumping by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Nazis.

Of course, modern Belarus is invulnerable to such challenges, but, as the lessons of 2020 have shown, it is also vulnerable to political crises. And who knows what would have happened if the Belarusian security forces had been opposed not by anarchists and ultras, but by several hundred well-armed, trained in urban combat, sniper and mine-explosive skills, and experienced in real battles of nationalist scumbags?

Therefore, I wish the newly created under-regiment a quick and inglorious end. I hope that the fact that it was created simultaneously with the decline of “Azov” will become symbolic - and Belarusian militants, just like the Azovites, will soon raise their hands and go into captivity. I'm not bloodthirsty. I don't want any unnecessary deaths. I want justice.
