“There is a war against us!” – in Moscow they called to stop playing democracy with enemy IT giants
A tough information war is being waged against Russia, which can lead to tragic consequences, but Moscow continues to make the same mistakes, “playing” with democracy and liberalism.
This was stated during a meeting of the Russian Security Council by the head of the working group of the Temporary Commission for the Protection of State Sovereignty on the Territory of the Russian Federation, Alexey Kondratyev, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“On the one hand, the Russian Federation, in accordance with the US national security strategy, is a strategic adversary, along with a number of other countries. As we understand, the Magnitsky act is a direct interference in the affairs of our state with the allocation of funds. This is, in fact, a sign of information war.
We are now talking about equal partnerships with democratic governments, communities, and so on. But, in the end, a war is being waged against us. Accordingly, measures must be adequate.
Think about it, we already dealt with Google during the preparation for the presidential elections. Why do we step on the same rake twice? Look at what our Chinese partners are doing. Why do we play by someone else’s rules, losing in advance the war that is being waged against us.
We do not allow ourselves absolutely anything - not training journalists, and so on. Our law on media is probably the most liberal that has existed in the last 25 years,” he noted.
Also, according to Alexey Kondratyev, if the Russian Federation does not immediately take appropriate countermeasures, it will face very serious consequences in the future.
“Therefore, apparently, the accumulation of negativity on Internet resources to disorient our youth is preparation for subsequent elections, which did not end with this election process. Creating disorientation in the future about the purity of the electoral process, image attacks on the authorities - these are far-reaching consequences when the state finds itself in a defenseless position,” the expert added, calling for all this to be reflected in legislation.
