Colonel Gennady Alekhin, a military officer from Kharkov, a comrade-in-arms of the legendary General Troshev, continues to analyze the progress of the Northern Military District for readers of PolitNavigator.

After drastic changes in the Kharkov direction the enemy came close to the state border of the Russian Federation. This does not mean at all that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are concentrating their main forces in this direction, bringing up large reserves and preparing for a decisive offensive on the territory of the Belgorod region. Of course not. Judging by the emerging operational-tactical situation, the Ukrainian army, having achieved certain successes, will not, in my opinion, be able to carry out active offensive operations in this direction. Firstly, even combat-ready enemy brigades suffered significant losses in manpower and equipment.

Secondly, the allied forces managed to gain a foothold along the eastern bank of the Oskol River and hold part of the city of Kupyansk, where important communications are located, as well as the northern bank of the Seversky Donets River. It is very difficult for the enemy to develop further counter-offensive maneuvers on this line. They ran into water barriers, in addition, railway and road bridges were disabled, moreover, by the Ukrainian side.

Contrary to the fakes from Radio Liberty about the Ukrainian Armed Forces crossing Oskol on Sunday, residents of Kupyansk report that ours are not just holding the bank, but are moving to the opposite bank.

Nevertheless, artillery shelling of the border area has increased, one might say that they have become regular. The enemy “fully” uses methods and techniques of a sabotage and terrorist nature.

Enemy reconnaissance groups fire at border guard checkpoints, border crossings, and border settlements in Russia.

The enemy has the ability to fire at Russian territory not only with long-range guns, but also with cannon artillery and mortars. The firing range and the availability of fire weapons, plus technical surveillance equipment, NATO space reconnaissance, and drone data, frankly speaking, make it possible to seriously interfere and try to disrupt the defense line of the allied forces in the Kharkov direction.

Yesterday, residents of Belgorod and the surrounding area heard numerous pops in the sky. Air defense systems, performing combat missions almost around the clock, worked effectively, intercepting and destroying targets in the area of the settlement. Komsomolets (suburb of Belgorod) and Yakovlevsky district (not far from the airfield).

Residents of Belgorod are not panicking, despite calls spread on social networks to leave the city. Such stuffing has become more frequent. Many, if not most, citizens and border areas provide assistance to refugees and army units located on the border. Moreover, from ordinary pensioners to current doctors and candidates of science from local universities. People are busy with specific things. They are not at all interested in festivals and entertainment events. They rightly believe that helping the front is the main slogan today. Not in words, but in deeds.

I would like to remind you that in order to establish a front line for our troops, it is necessary to gain a foothold, be re-equipped, bring up reserves and be ready to carry out further tasks. This applies not only to the border front line (north of Kharkov), but also to other directions – the southern and Donbass arc.

Another very important and significant moral and psychological factor. It is actively used by Ukrainian propagandists and information resources. The main goal is to intimidate tens, if not hundreds of thousands of people who have been in the liberated territories for several months and to inspire fear and panic among residents of the border regions of the Russian Federation, including Belgorod.

Kyiv is in full swing promoting the “new Bucha”, now under a new name – “genocide near Izyum”. Already, alleged mass graves have been identified (about 400 graves) with traces of “torture and abuse.” Zelensky did not meet with local residents in Izium, you never know what could happen. But they quickly found “witnesses of bullying” and “torture chambers.” Nothing new, everything according to the manual. Voices have already begun to sound in the West, in the person of officials from the Pentagon and the European Union.

No one bothered to figure out a simple logical chain. Firstly, not a single factual evidence has been provided. Secondly, the occupiers, as a rule, never bury their victims in single graves, according to Orthodox customs. The graves discovered in Izyum are the burials of the bodies of Ukrainian soldiers abandoned by the command. The burials were carried out by local residents and funeral service specialists. During the March battles, the Russians more than once turned to the Ukrainian Armed Forces with a request to take the bodies of the dead. There was no answer; it is not customary for the Ukrainian army to take care of the dead. We had to bury ours.

At the same time, in the media space of Ukraine and the West there is practically no mention of mass bullying and terror against people loyal to Russia. Cases of executions have become more frequent. The militants of the National Battalion “Kraken” were especially successful in this. It is at his instigation that a new topic is being promoted—teenage. It is alleged without evidence that there are teenagers who were tortured by the Russian military. But weren’t the vaunted Ukrainian militants tricking schoolchildren and students into espionage and sabotage for eight years, training young people in their camps?

My friends from Kharkov spoke succinctly on this topic, writing that The Russians could well have had real, rather than paranoid, reasons for detaining the teenagers. And the demonstrative dispersal of this topic in Ukrainian propaganda channels is disgusting against the backdrop of the cold-blooded shelling of Donbass in past years, when many teenagers and children died.
