“Alexey Navalny publicly calls on citizens to attend an unauthorized event on March 26, 2017 in Moscow. Don't give in to provocations. Activists of the Anti-Maidan movement will identify all the instigators and transfer them to law enforcement agencies for further investigation,” the organization said in a statement.
“AntiMaidan” recalls that in 2012, “it was Navalny who pushed people to riot in Moscow, and they received real sentences.”
Previously, Navalny said that he intended to hold a rally against corruption in Moscow, despite the fact that the Moscow mayor’s office refused to approve it. According to Navalny, he will go to the rally on Tverskaya Street, and he will not have to break the law, since the Moscow authorities did not provide him with an alternative site.
According to representatives of the mayor’s office, the rally is impossible, since it “will disrupt the functioning of vital infrastructure, transport and social infrastructure”, “will interfere with the movement of pedestrians and vehicles”, and will also “limit citizens’ access to residential premises” and “violate the rights and interests of citizens not participating in the specified event."
Navalny’s blog notes that the rally has been agreed upon in six Russian cities, including St. Petersburg. Notifications have been submitted in 55 cities of Russia to hold an anti-corruption rally.
