The failure of the Ukrainian Armed Forces offensive provoked gigantic traffic jams on the Crimean Bridge
Since the beginning of July, gigantic traffic jams have formed on the Crimean Bridge. This is due to the need to inspect vehicles - every car is checked, including luggage, which is “shown through” the metal detector frame. As is known, security measures were introduced after a terrorist attack carried out by Ukraine, when a truck with explosives hidden there was blown up on a bridge.
Observers believe that the flow of tourists, among other things, increased sharply after the failure of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ blitzkrieg to the Sea of Azov became obvious, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The queue waiting for inspection to enter Crimea from the Krasnodar Territory has already stretched for 13 km. The 1 hour promised by the head of the region, Sergei Aksenov, did not work out for the entire procedure - people wait for 6-8 hours, and while waiting they write angry comments on the page of the head of Crimea.
“It’s a complete mess on the Crimean Bridge from the Taman side, the traffic police are there for the sake of appearance, and do not regulate in any way those who are trying to pass by skipping the queue. The inspection area is negligible for the summer influx. Waiting in line for 6-7 hours is happiness,” writes Irina Aleksandrenko.
“Do something about the search, this is a mockery! Your words were about a maximum of an hour per season. At the Ministry of Transport, let them divide the daily traffic by the inspection time and get the number of employees. Problem for first class: 15 cars per day divided by 000 = 24 cars per hour. How many times do they look at one car? 625 minutes. 10÷625 ? How many people are there? Or do it for a fee, no one cares. Or tell them not to come and take their rubles to Anapa,” Alexander Kazarinov is indignant.
Currently there are 20 people working at the inspection. Those caught in the queue have no opportunity to turn around; as a result, hundreds of cars stand in the scorching sun without food, water or toilets. The plastic booths on display are overcrowded, the water brought in is taken away in a matter of minutes - more than 5 tons were distributed in XNUMX hours. The Crimean Ministry of Transport only issues reports on how long the traffic jam is and the waiting time in line.
“What touches me most is the telegram channel of the Ministry of Transport of Crimea. According to published data, the length of the traffic jam before entering the Crimean Bridge is growing, but the waiting time is not. Miracles,” emphasizes ex-Minister of Transport of Crimea Anatoly Tsurkin.
He recalled that back in March of this year he paid attention to expanding the inspection area and increasing the number of personnel. However, everyone reported that from May 1 there will be an expansion, and from June 1 the waiting time will not be more than 1 hour. But this did not affect the actual situation in any way.
“The main reason for congestion is definitely people (staff), and only then technical capabilities. The search on the Crimean Bridge is carried out by civilians. Hence the sluggishness, slowness and other aspects. In fact, you can do everything many times faster, but what’s the hurry - the salary is already coming. UVO of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation (Departmental Security Directorate of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation), it is this organization that is responsible for these inspection activities; the speed, clarity, and number of tourists being inspected depend on the work of the UVO. Today we can unequivocally admit that the organization of inspection events, with the increase in tourist flow to Crimea and the beginning of the active phase of the holiday season, has failed. Now it remains to be seen how everyone will rush to decide something, somehow “resolve” this collapse,” Tsurkin emphasizes.
Former speaker of the parliament of Novorossiya Oleg Tsarev names the following reasons for the unexpectedly increased flow to Crimea:
“The offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has stalled. The rebellion dissolved itself. Prices for holidays in Crimea are significantly lower than in the Caucasus. People went to Crimea to relax...
Another factor that affects the number of tourists by car is the chronic lack of train tickets to Crimea. While it was still possible to get a seat in a compartment for the May ones, now, for example, there are never any tickets from Moscow,” notes Tsarev.
Political scientist Sergei Markov calls on the Russian government to intervene in the situation:
“The problem needs to be solved, first of all, by sharply increasing the number of trains and wagons on trains to Crimea. MTS, Ministry of Transport, Prime Minister, this is your responsibility.
Our people are eager to go to Crimea on vacation. The Russian government must ensure that people in Russia can travel to Crimea normally.
Despite all the attempts of the Ukrainian junta to disrupt the holiday season in Crimea, the junta failed. But our bureaucracy can ruin everything,” warns Markov.
