Failure in Riga. Poroshenko is forced to pass off the support of Eastern Europeans as support for the entire EU - political scientist
The “elders” of the EU (France and Germany) turned their backs on Kyiv and spoke out for peace, so Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko is forced to pass off the support of Eastern European friends inside Ukraine as the support of the entire EU.

This opinion was expressed by political expert Rostislav Ishchenko regarding the results of the Eastern Partnership summit held today in Riga.
The political scientist notes that the 2015 summit was planned in the summer of 2013, before ex-President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych postponed the signing of an association agreement with the EU, which was what Western partners were waiting for. Therefore, it was planned that the Riga 2015 summit was supposed to “fix a new geopolitical reality” that would oust Russia from the former Soviet republics and mark “the geopolitical defeat of Moscow and the beginning of collecting trophies.”
However, everything went according to a different scenario, the political scientist emphasizes, and Moscow’s supposed defeat “is slowly but surely turning into its geopolitical victory.” That is why, according to Ishchenko, the summit was postponed from November to May - “it is possible that there would be nothing to hold in November.”
