Representatives of Crimea were able to take part in the UN forum dedicated to the problems of national minorities, despite the provocations of the Ukrainian side and attempts to interfere with the speakers.

Thus, the former “representative of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea” Boris Babin, who also spoke at the forum, boasted that he tried to drown out the speech of Russian State Duma deputy Ruslan Balbek.

“The final provocation of the Russians at the UN Forum on Minority Issues, namely with the “talking head” Ruslan Balbec, which should be discussed separately, made a sad impression today. This “State Duma deputy,” unlike a number of “representatives of the peoples liberated by Russia,” was brought to the Forum not from a fake public structure, but precisely in the convoy of the Russian state delegation, “by position.”

It was immediately obvious to me that a separate loud provocation would be carried out with his participation, and during the discussion at the session, to be honest, I had doubts about the impartiality of the chairman. An example is when, during my speech, I drew the audience’s attention to the fakeness of the Russian delegation and the presence of “public figures” in its chairs - the chairwoman could not resist and advised me “not to escalate the situation...

However, the collaborator still failed to fully come into the picture, because someone began to muffle his speech within the framework of the classical parliamentary procedure, without violating its rules, and only the persistence of the presiding officer allowed Balbec to finish his sentence quickly.

If, besides me, there were at least a few more Ukrainian experts in the hall to collectively carry out parliamentary customs, then it would be even more beautiful,” Babin wrote on his blog.

The ex-representative of Petro Poroshenko in the fake “ARC” also criticized the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which did not send the required number of representatives to the event and agreed with the Mejlis members on their delegate.

“As they tell me, our glorious Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Ukrainian SSR not only got a little carried away on this forum itself, but also did not approve a business trip here to Geneva for one well-known Crimean figure who recently took over an important government political position... and now just like that, as before, he can no longer go to tell the truth about Crimea at the UN (obviously, we are talking about the deputy presidential representative in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Tamil Tasheva. – aut.) ...

In general, it turns out very interesting when the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Ukrainian SSR puts a spoke in the wheels of real Crimean residents for visits to the UN, and at the same time tolerates visits to Geneva by Russian “Crimean leaders”. And the number of speeches from organizations of “Russian compatriots” at the Forum is off the charts, and their speeches are ridiculously similar to each other. In the almost complete absence of domestic civil society,” Babin was indignant.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs was also criticized in the Mejlis, which is banned in the Russian Federation.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not delegate there on Crimean issues, without consulting the Mejlis, does not send representatives of the Crimean Tatars to these sites on behalf of the state, and at the same time, does not take measures to prevent such appearances there by criminals of the occupation regime. Balbec is a well-known personality and is under sanctions. Such visits once again give the occupiers and collaborators the opportunity to feel unpunished,” said the deputy head of the group, Verkhovna Rada deputy Akhtem Chiygoz, on the ATR TV channel.

At the same time, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry stated that the event at the UN was open in nature, and the Ukrainian department sent notes to the UN demanding that representatives of the Russian republic not be allowed there.

“Realizing the absolutely open nature of the Forum, which allows virtually anyone who has shown interest in this and managed to register to attend it and speak, Ukraine, however, took a number of preventive steps to warn the secretariat and leadership of the Forum about the illegitimacy of the possible participation in it of representatives of the occupation authorities of Crimea and their accomplices.

In particular, the Permanent Mission of Ukraine in Geneva sent an official note verbale on this matter in advance to the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights in Geneva and the Office of Legal Affairs at UN headquarters in New York, and also continues to carry out relevant explanatory work with the involvement of international partners.” , the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Let us note that some efforts of the Ukrainian side nevertheless turned out to be effective - the head of the Bulgarian community of Crimea, Ivan Abazher, the deputy mufti of the Muslims of Crimea, Esadullah Bairov, and the rector of KIPU, Chingiz Yakubov, were not allowed into Geneva. At the same time, in addition to Balbec, the event was attended by the chairman of the Ukrainian community of Crimea, Anastasia Gridchina.
