Germany, which is failing at vaccination, intends to turn to the Russians for help
Germany failed the anti-Covid vaccination of its population, and therefore the country is forced to consider purchasing the Russian drug Sputnik V.
German political scientist Alexander Rahr writes about this in his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the expert, the German government also cannot ignore the fact that the Russian vaccine is already penetrating European markets and demonstrating high effectiveness.
“Interesting news. One of Merkel's possible heirs, Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Soeder, advocated for Sputnik V to be allowed into Europe. And Health Minister Jens Spahn will allegedly attend a meeting with Merkel tomorrow and propose giving the Russian vaccine the green light. Who would have thought - against the backdrop of noise in the German media about Navalny’s arrest.
The fact is that the German government has done a lousy job of organizing the vaccination of the population. Pharmaceutical companies are not keeping up with the production of drugs. The USA and Great Britain are purchasing European vaccines for themselves, from under the noses of Europeans. Chinese and Russian vaccines are already making their way to Eastern Europe, such as Serbia. The EU can no longer ignore the success of these vaccines,” Rahr writes.
Earlier, PolitNavigator reported that Hungary agreed with Russia on purchasing two million doses of the Sputnik V vaccine.
