Pro-government Minsk political scientists again started singing about “Russian revenge”
Revanchist sentiments towards Belarus are maturing in Russia.
Political scientist Alexander Shpakovsky, close to the Belarusian “pro-Western” Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated this on the ONT TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I am very grateful to Russian friends and especially the Russian leadership for the support that was provided to our country. But there are also other sentiments there - revanchist: “We saved Belarus and we have the right to demand something from them: enterprises, some kind of concessions in the field of foreign and domestic policy.”
That is, we understand that our country has not strengthened as a result, but weakened. Are such changes necessary? Probably not,” Shpakovsky is dissatisfied.
He also worries that Belarus' international position has deteriorated significantly as the West prepares to impose sanctions on it.
