The provocation of Western intelligence services in Serbia did not achieve its goal
The initiators of the “spy scandal” in Serbia aimed to aggravate the situation before the meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.
Political scientist Oleg Bondarenko told PolitNavigator about this.
“Behind this is the desire of certain people to spoil the atmosphere before the meeting of the presidents of Russia and Serbia. There is nothing serious behind this and cannot stand,” Bondarenko said.
He is confident that the information leak on the Internet was organized by Western intelligence agencies.
“This story was made public by a Bulgarian journalist who specializes in various kinds of pro-Western revelations. So it has roots in Western intelligence services, which operate quite freely in the Balkans. The provocation did not achieve its goal, since both the Russian and Serbian sides stated that nothing would destroy their good relations,” Bondarenko said.
Let us remind you that this week an anonymous user uploaded a video to YouTube in which Russian embassy employee Georgiy Kleban hands a bag of cash to a former Serbian military man. The video was shot from multiple angles, suggesting a well-organized surveillance operation, but Serbian intelligence agencies deny it was their work.
